“I would love to volunteer and help with South Orange County Cru any way I can!” – Annie Kirby, Physics Professor at UC Irvine. This was a letter sent to our staff team after our Thank-A-Prof outreach. Carly and I (JJ) are excited about reaching every corner of the college campus! Our heart is to reach the world with the Gospel through college students, university professors, and faculty. Professors have a huge influence on the hearts and minds of college students.
At UC Irvine and Chapman University, we hosted an event called Thank-A-Prof. Students wrote thank you notes to their professors for investing in their lives. We sought to care for professors and engage in spiritual conversations with the students we met who were writing the notes.
College students from Chapman University and UC Irvine wrote over 250 thank you cards to encourage their professors! Upon delivery of the thank you cards, several professors mentioned they felt acknowledged and appreciated. Others wanted to help our Cru team host outreaches to share the Gospel!
We are so excited to see how God is going to use professors at UC Irvine and Chapman University to bring students closer to Him!

We are beyond excited to announce Carly is pregnant! Our little one is arrives in November. This gift of life is truly a blessing from the Lord!
Pregnancy has not been an easy road, so far. Carly was diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gravidarum (extreme nausea and vomiting). She was put on in-home IVs for over a month because she became severely dehydrated and lost a lot of weight. Carly has endured endless doctors appointments and blood work, but is slowly improving and we hope she will start feeling better soon. Praise God the baby seems to be developing normally!
We cannot tell you how thankful we are for your faithful giving and partnership in ministry! God continues to humble us with his plan and provision.
Until the World Hears,
JJ and Carly Raymond
Pray students will continue to walk with Jesus as they enter into the transitional summer months. It can be a difficult time for students returning to difficult family dynamics and unstructured time.
Pray we would continue to foster relationships with faculty on our campuses. Pray for hearts to be open and lives to be changed! They have such great potential for influence.
Pray for the health of Carly and our baby. This season has been challenging and wearisome. Pray for perseverance and trust in the Lord with the unknowns.
